ArchivalResource

A plan of a lot of land owned by Capt. Benjamin Conklin, 1813.

The land surveyed was located on the easterly side of Trumbull Street in Hartford, Connecticut. Conklin not only owned the land, but helped survey it along with Caleb Moore. The quantity of land was 1 rood and 16 1/2 perches. A note indicated that there were "meer stones" in each corner of the lot and the lines were run from stone to stone. A later note, written in the lower left corner, was penned by Augustus Bolles of Colchester on December 3, 1840. He noted that he now had the survey and the land in his possession via bequest of Caleb Moore.
